The State of Minnesota’s Cold Weather Rule protects residential customers who are unable to pay their utility bills from disconnection of service between October 15 and April 15. Contrary to popular belief, the Cold Weather Rule does not forbid disconnection during the winter months; communication with your gas and electric providers is very important.
If you know that you’ll have trouble paying your utility bill, call us at 763-441-2020 to make payment arrangements, or download or submit
an “Inability to Pay” form. You must follow payment arrangements for Cold Weather Rule protection from utility shutoff.
