Electric Rates Effective January 1, 2007
Non-Demand Customers (Demand in KW less than 50 KW)
Basic Monthly Charge $16.00
May-September usage $.09062/KWh
October-April usage $.06872/KWh
Minimum Bill:
Basic monthly charge plus $1.00/KVA/month of excess transformer capacity requested by customer.
Power factor of 95% must be maintained or a penalty may be assessed.
 
Demand Customers (Demand in KW greater than 50 KW)
Basic Monthly Charge $50.00
Energy Charge $.0422/KWh
May-September Demand Charge $13.78/KW
October-April Demand Charge $9.78/KW
Minimum Bill:
Maximum billing demand during previous 12 months times 3% of the demand charge, or the actual demand multiplied by the demand charge, whichever is greater plus $1.00/KVA/month of excess transformer capacity requested by customer.
Power factor of 95% must be maintained or a penalty may be assessed.

Commercial Rate Step Definition:
First Step Rate = 0 – 1.1 X previous year’s average winter period monthly consumption.
Second Step Rate = Above 1.1 X previous year’s average winter period monthly consumption
For new customers, if a minimum of 3 winter months previous year's history is not available to establish the Step amount, the First Step rate shall be utilized until a 3 month history is established.

Watering Restrictions

• No sprinkling allowed from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Those with even numbered addresses can sprinkle before 10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m. on the even numbered days.
• Those with odd numbered addresses can sprinkle before 10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m. on the odd numbered days.

Industrial and Commercial users with higher than average strength waste will be charged using a formula which is based on waste strength.
 

Where and How to Make Payments

• Mail or hand deliver to our office.
• Drop box options:
     - utility entrance at City Hall
     - across from the Post Office
• Automatic payment is available upon request.

There is a $20.00 charge for all returned checks.

Billing Procedures and Policies
Utility bills are due on the 15th of each month. Delinquency notices will be sent to customers after the due date has expired and payment in full has not been received. This notice will state that the bill has become past due and service will be disconnected, if payment is not made or satisfactory arrangements have not been made with the Office. No further notice will be given.

There is a $50.00 reconnection charge for 1 phase and $150.00 reconnection charge for 3 phase within the normal hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.  The reconnection charge after working hours is $100.00 for 1 phase and $350.00 for 3 phase. No reconnects will be done after 8 p.m.
